The La Mora association in Honfleur offers fun workshops based around the ship of the Duke of Normandy: a feat of naval engineering, William the Conqueror’s La Mora was not just a simple boat.

The troupe invites you to discover in a historical and fun way what the life of a Viking was like with the presentation of their cuisine, their crafts (fishing, wood, leather), their everyday objects, their jewelry, their weapons, their clothing… Vikings as you have never seen them!

A fun and educational reconstruction of soap making to explore hygiene at that time, its uses and customs. The soaps produced will be scented with local materials found on site and will bear the name “Sapo Augustodurumensis” (from Augustodurum, the ancient name for Bayeux).

Gisle is the only replica of a Viking sailing ship entirely handcrafted using period techniques found in France. Leita at Bardagi will explain the ship’s history, from archaeological excavations to its first trials. They will also discuss the ship’s importance to the Vikings and the Normans (transport, trade, fishing, raids, etc.).

Dive into the past. At the camp, discover scenes from everyday Scandinavian life: meal preparation, textile and leather crafts, and the culture of trade and warfare. Many clichés about the Vikings will be debunked.
